Friendships

My friend Martha and I have been friends since 1995. We work about a block away from eachother but for some reason we never get the chance to meet for luch, dinner or coffee. The last time I saw her was four months ago. Due to our busy lives there is always an excuse why not to meet. I'm always up for anthing fun and outgoing to do but her situation is more complicated. She has two kids and a husband that need her and sometimes is difficult for her to get away. After texting and talking back and forth for the past month and a half we finally made it happen. Friday night was finally our dinner plan and we decided to meet at Krua Thai. We had a feast. We ate and talked about what has been happening with our families and in our personal lives. It is never a dull moment with Martha, we laugh and joke and gossip about silly things we see at work. I am happy to have someone like her in my life. I always say to her that I have a feeling when her kids are finally old enough so she can get away. I will probably be the one with excuses because by then I most likely be starting a family.
