Half The Sky

         Half The Sky is a strong documentary that displays a true reality of how women are treated around the world. This organization is truly helping women to escape from slavery. The horror these women have to go through and even carry this scar for the rest of their lives. In many different way women are tortured, oppressed and discriminated. Edna Adan is an inspiration to women. She does her best to rescue them. Edna also provides training for younger women in order to use their skill in their own home town. I personally admire people who make it possible to bring change in peoples lives.
          I was never aware of this organization but it is definitely an interesting topic. The movie was not available for public viewing on the organization web page but I was able to watch videos of it on YouTube. Documentaries like Half The Sky make me emotional. It also creates a desire for me to help others. It is a privilege to contribute because the bible says "it is more blessed to give than to receive." Which I have in the past but not specifically for this organization. I highly recommend every person to watch this film. Any contribution from the viewers can help women in need around the world.
