Great Pacific Garbage Patch

Today I watched over ten videos of the Great Pacific Garbage Patch. It was not for my pleasure to see how humans are destroying mother earth. But for my own purpose to learn something new and see if I can help. I was sad to see how animals are harm from plastic caps they consume. Also how this material kills sea life and can possibly affect the sea food we eat. The water is contaminated and polluted with bacteria from the garbage spread in the ocean. The debris comes from big population and it collects in the middle of the pacific.
We the citizens of the United States are partly to blame. We dispose trash out in the streets not caring for the environment. I personally think that it will be a good idea for this problem to be expose more in the news, bill boards and commercials. Many of us are not aware of this reality. But I believe the more we see this problem in our faces it will obligate us to help recycle the trash. All this plastic should be collected and can be use to build park or bus stop benches. Something useful where citizens can see that their contribution is being use for something they can benefit from.
